The First International Antifascist Conference declares its firm support for the Global Sumud Flotilla, the largest civilian maritime mission ever organized to break the criminal siege imposed on Gaza. The flotilla, made up of more than 50 boats and participants from over 40 countries, represents a concrete action of international solidarity in the face of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. More than a humanitarian initiative, the flotilla is a gesture of global popular resistance that directly confronts the Israeli apartheid regime and colonial occupation, as well as the complicity of imperialist powers. Its name, Sumud — “steadfastness” in Arabic — expresses the spirit of dignity and perseverance that inspires this journey across the sea towards Gaza’s freedom.
The Antifascist Conference, which will bring together thousands of militants from all over the world in Porto Alegre, recognizes in the Global Sumud Flotilla a living expression of the same political commitment that drives us: the struggle against fascism, racism, and war. We denounce the attempts to silence or criminalize the flotilla, such as the recent attacks suffered during its crossing of the Mediterranean, and reaffirm that international solidarity is a fundamental weapon in building collective alternatives to barbarism. To support the Global Sumud Flotilla is, therefore, to defend life, dignity, and the resistance of a people who have faced blockade, occupation, and massacre for decades. We call on all antifascist militants to join this current of active solidarity, strengthening internationalist unity against fascism in all its forms.
